Our efforts to discipling children consist of us
God commands parents to disciple their children (Deuteronomy 4:9-10, 6:7, 11:19; Proverbs 1-9; Ephesians 6:4). Parents should be accustomed to talking about God informally – while driving the car, for example. Parents should also have planned moments to pray, read God’s word, and to sing together. We know that family worship is not always easy. Thus, one of the main goals of the children’s ministry at 11th Street Baptist is to equip parents to flourish in the God-given privilege and responsibility of discipling their children.

Our church facilitates age-appropriate and strategic church activities for children. We believe that teaching children age-appropriate Bible lessons and mission stories are vital for a child’s growth in knowledge and love for the Lord since these moments allow children to interact with biblical content in age-appropriate ways. Thus, although the Bible does not speak about this type of ministry, we believe it is wise to facilitate it.
Our Kids Ministry organizes special events throughout the year including movie nights, pool parties, service projects as well our Vacation Bible School (VBS).
The Scripture assumes that the believers from different generations will interact together (see Acts 20:9; Titus 2:3-4; 1 Timothy 5:1; 1 Peter 5:5). Thus, it is our conviction that there should be moments in the life of the church where all generations are present together to learn about God’s word and to be transformed by it. Some of these events at our church include church BBQs, mission trips, and our men’s and women’s ministries.
